Race to the pulsar

A couple years ago we got to visit a pulsar in our Star Wars RPG adventure! So, being the astrophysicist that I am, I just had to draw it.

Several crews, including ours, were summoned to a planet in the Vadarian Corridor by the veteran smuggling lord Mal Weiler, for what looked like a test to determine if any of us could be hired in the long run. The first step had us jumping to the Navale Pulsar, and there we'd be sent the information on where and how to pick up the cargo… if we could get close enough to receive the transmission from an orbiting satellite in the harsh environment. But hey, it was the disruptions caused by the pulsar in the area what made this a smuggling route in the first place.

With our Ghtroc 720 Star Shell, we found cover behind the Penultimate Breath, a Gymsnor-3 freighter owned by Drake Colt with whom we'd struck a deal to help each other in this race. The YT-2400 close to us was the Eaglet, crewed by the scornful Pierre Grignotaire and his four human cyborgs, and the custom freighter Lost Virtue captained by Hayate Ang (who was revealed to be a slaver) was further ahead. The other Ghtroc, the Corellian Fortune captained by Barton Funch, got a bit lost among the radiation and we later ended up helping them, as my character, a Verpine, got interested by his crew of two Morseerians, a Gand and a Chadra-fan and we started getting along before the competition began. But this was after we saw the MB-1300 Sure Bet, with the outlandish Wolfgang Kabul and his Ewok crew, risk its integrity by maneuvering into the dangerous emission beam of the pulsar to let its radiation push them away faster.

This adventure was adapted from Secrets of the Sisar Run, a Star Wars RPG supplement by West End Games. It was fun!
